On 31 July, Art Nit Campos returns once again to transform our surroundings into a hub of contemporary art.
Founded in 2012, the event has become a celebration of art in our small town, bringing together the work of more than 600 artists across a wide range of creative disciplines.
Sa Creu Nova presents the exhibition Roots and Transformations
This year, Sa Creu Nova hosts the exhibition Roots and Transformations, featuring the works of Marta Font and Juan Carlos Batista. As Mercedes Estarellas, curator at Kaplan Gallery, explains, they are “two artists who, through deeply personal artistic languages, explore the relationship between human beings, the land and nature”.
Through photography and hybrid techniques incorporating embroidery, ceramics and collage, Marta Font reflects on tradition, family and the sense of belonging. Her work revisits aspects of collective identity, transforming the landscape into a space of shared memory and intergenerational transmission, with the female figure at its heart.
Juan Carlos Batista, meanwhile, draws on surrealist imagery to create a symbolic universe in which water represents origin, transformation and hope. By intertwining nature, femininity and ecology, he questions our relationship with the environment, presenting water as an essential element of life and a metaphor for balance.
On 31 July, these two artistic perspectives come together at Sa Creu Nova, surrounded by the landscapes of Mallorca’s Migjorn region, reminding us of our deep connection to the land.
