Mallorca reveals a different side of itself when explored by bike. Starting from Campos, the roads wind through farmland, inland villages and landscapes that gradually open up towards the Mediterranean.
Cycling Routes in Mallorca from Campos
Campos is an ideal starting point for discovering a quieter side of Mallorca by bike, with rural roads, nearby villages and the island’s southern coastline all within reach.
A Route Through Windmills and Farmland
Among the routes around Campos is a circular ride of 15 to 18 kilometres. Completely flat and suitable for beginners, it takes around an hour to an hour and a half to explore the agricultural landscape surrounding the town.
The route starts in Campos itself and heads into the surrounding farmland along rural tracks and quiet local roads.
Traditional windmills stand among farmsteads and cultivated fields, alongside the dry-stone walls that run throughout much of Mallorca’s countryside. Traffic is minimal, leaving the landscape to take centre stage along these quiet local roads.
A Coastal Ride Towards Es Trenc Beach
From Campos, the route south leads towards the Es Trenc area, covering around 22 kilometres there and back. The ride is flat and relatively easy, taking approximately an hour and a half.
As the route progresses, agricultural landscapes give way to the open spaces near the coast. The ride enters Es Trenc-Salobrar de Campos Natural Park, where dunes, pine forests and the sea create the scenery that accompanies the approach to Es Trenc Beach.
Campos, Ses Salines and the Landscapes of Southern Mallorca
The route between Campos and Ses Salines covers 18 kilometres there and back. It is a short, completely flat ride that can be enjoyed at a relaxed pace in around an hour.
The route passes through open fields and traditional farmsteads, following quiet secondary roads. Much of the landscape retains the rural character of southern Mallorca, with cultivated fields and traditional buildings accompanying the ride towards Ses Salines, where peaceful streets and stone houses welcome visitors.
Those looking to extend the ride can continue from Ses Salines towards the Cap de ses Salines lighthouse. A narrow road crosses a landscape of dry-stone walls, wild olive trees, fig trees and junipers. At the coast, the lighthouse stands above the sea, with the coastline and Cabrera Island stretching out in front of it.
From Campos to Porreres Along Rural Roads
The roads connecting Campos and Porreres lead into the heart of Mallorca on a route of around 24 kilometres there and back. The ride takes approximately one hour and 45 minutes, with a few gently rising stretches along the way.
The route follows quiet, paved secondary roads through farmland and traditional estates. Gradually, the landscape leads to Porreres, where traditional architecture and the relaxed atmosphere of an inland Mallorcan village provide a welcoming arrival.
For a little more elevation, it is worth continuing from Porreres to Santuari de Monti-Sion, located around 3 kilometres from the village. The road climbs towards the sanctuary, where sweeping views open up across the Pla de Mallorca countryside.
Campos to Felanitx, Towards Eastern Mallorca
The route towards Felanitx extends the ride to 26 kilometres there and back, taking between an hour and a half and two hours. The terrain is mostly flat, with a few gentle inclines as you approach Felanitx.
Quiet secondary roads cross traditional agricultural landscapes, allowing you to explore eastern Mallorca at a relaxed pace. There are no major climbs, although the scenery gradually changes as the route moves further away from Campos.
This is the longest route in the selection and a great way to spend a full morning discovering the surrounding countryside on two wheels.
